March 23rd, 2018 Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to Libreville, Gabon

8AM I slept on the chair until 7AM. I sat in the VIP lounge, the first class side that had no drinks but was open until 8AM. I got my boarding pass but the lounge on my side was closed. It is hard to know whether Ceiba would have given me accommodation. I lean toward no. I tried to go back to Ceiba for them to let me go into the other one but they wouldn't let me.

9AM My flight is delayed 4 hours due to rain. I argued a little bit and they offered to buy breakfast in the pizza place upstairs. I had a plain omelette with nothing in it for 3,000 XAF and another 2,000 just for some powdered coffee with milk.

10AM I went over to the lounge on my side which didn't really have a Priority Pass Lounge and sat there to chat with a Gabonese Norwegian family until 12PM, when they called us to board.

12:30PM We boarded and left for Gabon.

1PM We arrived. I asked to get a transit visa, hoping it was cheaper. I ended up waiting for hours for the "big chief" to come. Well, he never came and I waited until 4PM. They did let me outside for a drink. I thought about leaving to go to the Cathedral for 1 hour and if they had charged me too much, I may have slept at the airport. I did feel like it was too risky and just walked back to the airport. I was caught by the immigration employee there who spoke a little English. We walked back to immigration and they didn't let me out again.

5PM The promise that the chief would come never came. They called Hotel Padonou Charbonnages who never answered. I had to book an expensive hotel in a pinch and they sent someone here. I asked and had to change money for a loss so that they can do my visa before the passengers from Air France arrived. I did it and paid 45,000 XAF and left to get on a taxi to Notre Dame right away.

7PM I arrived and took some uninspired pictures of this mediocre architecture. I then asked for a famous restaurant. One of the English teachers told me to go to Tsoumou. I ate some horrible fatty fish and plantains for 4,000 XAF. I took another taxi to Hotel Padonou Charbonnages. He only dropped me off nearby and I had to walk another 1 kilometer to find it. Luckily I saved it on GPS.

9PM I arrived and the boy first put me in a double. I didn't understand him and then he told me to wait. His father called back and wanted 16,000 XAF. I walked to get some water and another Orangina. I slept around 10PM. Funny thing is, out of the 7 channels on TV, 2 were the same bad pornography.
