6AM What an unbelievable day! Traveling 5 years and more and first time cheated by 40 USDs. I was trying for an exchange. The guy gained my trust by giving me 100000 TZS first. He then said there are police around so that threw me off as he forced me to hurry. I should've gotten 198,000 and instead he gave me 9800 instead of 98000. What a nightmare.
10AM I was getting sick, clastrophobic and wanting to leave this hell hole.
11AM I finally got off and paid the taxi 29,800 TZS instead of 30,000 he asked to go to the Mbeya airport. It took 30 minutes but I was finally there.
5PM I waited until 5:45 to fly to Dar es Salaam. I paid $123.29. for it and another flight at 9:55 PM to Mount Kilimanjaro.
8PM We started checking in but they said I didn't pay for the luggage. Fortunately, I took out the tripod and they let me go.
9PM I bought a couple of sodas and was the last one to board.
10pm I arrived at Kilimanjaro. The shuttle was 10,000 TZSs. We arrived at 11PM and the help from the shuttle insisted that I take a taxi to the backpackers lodge. The taxi driver took me to another one that charged 25,000 TZSs. We then drove back and took the 8 USDs offer at backpackers. They had Internet and breakfast. Though my room had four beds, there was just me.
