April 16th, 2024 Shushtar, Iran to Shiraz, Iran

5:45 AM I woke early to explore the Shushtar Hydraulic System, a 3,500-year-old engineering marvel used by many dynasties. I woke Erfan up at 7:30AM.

8:10AM After breakfast, we set off on an 8-hour drive to Shiraz.

3:45PM We reached Eram Garden.

6PM We checked into the Forough Boutique Hotel.

6:15PM We arrived at Kateh Mas Restaurant, only to find it closed until 7PM. I used this time to attend a Zoom meeting for Mass Challenge.

8:30PM I finally had dinner at Kateh Mas Restaurant, where I enjoyed Kalam Polo, a delicious cabbage fried rice dish.

9:30PM I wrapped up the evening with a saffron latte at Joulep Bistro, which costed me 1,350,000 IRR. The manager kindly provided me with a recipe of Kalam Polo when I asked, which came from his mother.

10PM It rained as I returned to my hotel, soaking my clothes, but luckily there was a radiator to dry them out. I slept around 2AM.
