7AM I go with Vesna to the construction site. We met the family that is managing the site. This filter costs about $5,000 to build, with some adsorption technology that has been more recently developed. I should talk about it in another blog. The family was also lovely. They fed us coconut juice but as I have said before, American coconuts are way better. The 29 year old obviously had a thing for me until she found out I was 5 years younger. I took a picture of their family.
10AM I arrived back at ITC but Dr. Uy was not there that day. So I went downstairs to use the internet. I was supposed to meet Sikvey at Phnom Penh University at that time. Suddenly someone tapped me on the shoulder and it was her. She has been waiting for me for an hour or so. But I did not know. We roamed around for half an hour. She did not know where to so I picked Corner 34 for lunch (a little over $13).
2:45PM I left for Battambong (18,000 riels on a half-empty Capitol Bus), against Dr. Uy's admonition that there is nothing there. I arrived at 8PM. The moto driver took me around two blocks for 2,000 riels, which is a rip-off. Afterward, I roamed around a little. There were a couple of bars/restaurants and that was about it. I went to sleep in my fan room (18,000 riels). The windows were kept closed because someone could easily come in and stab me although I have come to trust Cambodians are one of the kindest people. You can never be too careful.
