April 3rd, 2010 Luang Prabang

9AM I left in the morning to Luang Prabang. There was only one bus a day and it was 90,000 kips for the bus and 100,000 kips for the minivans leaving at 10AM. I wanted the cheaper bus but they put me into a minivan anyway. Now this road was supposed to really windy and should take 5-6 hours. It was really windy! At times, I would just try to sleep because the driver is driving 50 mph on this road, with no railings whatsoever.

On the way to LP

2PM The van before us breaks down and we also stop to help since our buses belong to the same company. The driver could not fix the bus and we ended up calling another van to come to help from Luang Prabang and finally kept on after an one hour delay.

4PM We arrive at LP and I took a moto, who just showed me the guest house and ended up not charging me. I was meant to pay him 5,000 kips. I met a couple of girls from Vang Vieng. They were staying at the guest house for 50,000 kips and I asked the owner for a discount at 40,000 kips. He agreed.

Restrauants and proof that I had BBQ for 25,000 kips

6PM I roamed around LP, which is surrounded Mekong River and the Nam Khan River. There were many restaurants catered to foreigners, as well as Internet cafes and tourist booking agencies. I then ran into my friends at the same guest house and had Laos BBQ for just 25,000 kips. It was decent。 The two girls already had dinner so they did not eat.

She is the most adorable girl in Laos. She did not even care when I was taking photos of her.
There was more BBQ than this. But on the other hand, you get what you paid for.

Nam Cam River

8PM I checked out the night market, which was pretty similar to those elsewhere. The fruit shakes here are 4,000 kips but they are killing me with diarrhea almost every day.
