10AM I met Dr. Davin Uy at ITC. He said that my idea for the filter has worked. However, his team has chosen to build filters on a village scale. I asked if I could visit tomorrow. He said Vesna would bring me there. I went to Terrace Cafe (36Eo St 289 Phone: 855 23885036), which is my favorite at Tuol Kork. I had an almond frappe for 9600 riels.
I do not recalled what exactly happened the rest of the day. I did go to the first hotel I stayed at, La Paillote (234 St 130, 855-23992038). They were still running $12-15 per room thing and a discount for me if I were to stay. I think I paid $25 for Kisondra and I last time with 2 rooms. I got the name of the owner (成秀蘭) in case I were to come back some day. We chatted a little. She said she has been to Da Lat and HCMC in Vietnam. After browsing through central market again, I felt bored and hence desired to call up Sarik. I had sent him an email in Vietnam but knowing how often people check their emails here, I was not hopeful that I would get a reply this soon. So I called a bunch of people that attended my class.
After a couple of calls, I got to his friend who gave me his number. Boy am I glad I am in Cambodia where some students speak English for once! He showed up in 15 minutes and we proceed to a bar one block away from riverside that I knew had cheap drafts (2000 riels). At the bar, I told what happened with the bus girl and he was a good listener who had been previously introduced to this story. There were a couple of English drunkards who bought all the girls working there drinks and went to do you know what. It was Sarik's first time drink so I helped him down his drink and all of mine. I also drank one more glass courtesy of the English men and 3 was enough to call it a night.
