5AM My original
flights was ordered through flydubai and the visa was declined. After changing
it to Wells Fargo account, it worked. I spent 3 hours trying to contact Chase, none of the VOIP
worked, including Google hangout.
I finally called using someone else's Skype. They said there are no problems with my account.
7:30AM I booked a Burj Khalifa tour at the 124th floor for 130 AED. I was on the departure side again and had to have someone from flydubai to escort me to arrival so that I can leave. I left around 8:30AM since it was going to take 45 minutes. Dubai mall was pretty grand and impressive. I took 20 minutes just to walk to Burj Khalifa, if not 30 minutes. I arrived at 10AM and the line as not bad.
12PM I ran out money because their card needed around 6.5 AED to run and they charged me 7.5 AED penalty because they didn't tap the card on the way on the bus, which was new to me. I had to refill another 15 AED. I had ran out of batteries on my camera
and took the metro to Emirate Mall. An Asian sale associate let me charge in his office. I didn't buy anything here and just walked around and found Ski Dubai, the indoor mall skiing arena.
3PM I retrieved my battery and took the metro 3 stops down to the marina. I bought a lime juice and then went on my way back to the airport.
5PM I arrived at Dubai Airport with 6 AED left on my metro card. I tried but no one wanted to take it off my hands. My flight left around 7. It was a 4 hour flight but I believe there was a time difference. I talked to a nice Syrian refugee who has family studying in the US. He helped me getting my Uber. The driver was a nice guy but forced me to pay for the airport parking. I gave him 1.3 OMR, which was less than 4 USD that he asked. It turned out I was double charged. I complained to Uber, who refunded me 5 USD. I got to my Airbnb. As it turned out, it was an actual hotel that used Airbnb to advertise. It was alright. My room had one other person in it, who probably was out partying. I took a shower but had my clothes all wet from the water that spilled from the shower. They helped me hang it outside. I forgot my underwear when I left.
